Arkansas Economics Challenge 2024
What is Econ Challenge:
The National Economics Challenge (NEC) is the country’s only economics competition of its kind for 9-12th grade students. It tests micro and macroeconomic principles as well as knowledge of the world economy. This motivating and fun team learning experience begins with competitions at the state level. The 2024 state competition was hosted at the University of Central Arkansas on March 12, 2024.
Competition Format:
The Arkansas Economics Challenge consists of multiple competition categories for students to participate in throughout the day, including:
a Multiple-Choice Economics exam taken in person on Challenge Day.
Group Presentations, where students will develop presentations to present to university faculty judges
Individual Essays that students can write and submit before the competition date.
Participating Teams:
There are two competition categories for the Arkansas Economics Challenge: David Ricardo, for first time Challenge participants enrolled in their first economics course, or Adam Smith, for AP, Honors, and students who have taken multiple economics courses or participated in a past Economics Challenge. 2024 participants included:
