Back to School Financial Education with Regions Bank

How do you use your money? Like a squirrel, a dolphin or a spider?

It’s just one new thing students can discover about themselves by taking the Piggy Bank Quiz featured as part of Adventures in Math, a free online financial education resource provided by Regions Bank.

ACRE - A Plan of Action for Arkansas Students

Adventures in Math provides kindergarteners through eighth graders and their teachers with a variety of interactive games, lesson plans, at-home activities and family resources designed to teach math skills and financial responsibility. Lesson plans are broken down by grade level (K-2, 3-5, 6-8), with several of the plans featured in both English and Spanish.

“Building healthy financial habits early can help set a strong foundation throughout a students’ school years and into adulthood,” said Joye Hehn, Next Step financial education manager for Regions Bank. “These activities provide a fun, engaging way for teachers and parents to introduce young students to the value of money and help them build financial confidence.”

Regions recently joined forces with the WeAreTeachers media online brand to expand access to its Adventures in Math resources. In addition to the Piggy Bank Quiz, other lesson plans and activities include:

Money Basics (Grades K-2)
The Road to Riches (Grades 3-5)
The Bigge$t Bang for Your Buck (Grades 6-8)

But those free financial education resources aren’t just limited to students. Regions also offers a variety of budgeting materials for parents, too. Those tools and resources are designed to help families be financially prepared for the back-to-school season and throughout the year.
